Residential heating and cooling in Yakima

Heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioners and radiant heating, installed and repaired for existing homes and new construction by a locally owned Trane Comfort Specialist.

Chapter 01

What your house is telling you before the system quits

A home comfort system rarely fails all at once. In the Yakima Valley the early signs show up in the extremes: a heat pump that runs and runs in a January cold snap while the aux heat strip glows on every cycle, an air conditioner that cycles on and off every few minutes in August, a furnace that clicks, tries to light and shuts itself down. Upstairs rooms that never catch up with the thermostat, ice on the outdoor coil that does not clear, a new whine or rattle from the air handler: each one points to something specific, and each one gets more expensive the longer it runs.

We install and repair the four systems most Yakima homes depend on: heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioners and radiant heating. Whether it is an existing home or new construction, the first job is the same. Someone from the shop comes out, looks at the equipment and the house together, and tells you what is actually wrong or what the right system would be. New customers get that consultation free.

Sized to the house, built clean, priced in writing

We are a certified Trane dealer and installer, and Trane has further certified us as a Trane Comfort Specialist, a designation for heating and air conditioning companies with extensive training and experience. In practice that means the equipment is matched to the house you have, not the house a catalogue assumes: the square footage, the insulation, the duct runs you already own, and whether the home is heated by a heat pump, a gas furnace or a radiant floor.

The sheet-metal side matters as much as the box. The photo above is a new basement trunk line and plenum we installed along a cinder-block wall: straight runs, tight joints, supports where they belong. Air that leaks out of a duct never reaches the room, and a trunk that is built right keeps the new equipment quiet and efficient for years.

Then comes the number. Our price quote guarantee means that if the actual cost of service turns out higher than we estimated, we stick to our original quote. You get the estimate in writing, and that is the price.

Chapter 03

Keeping it running after we leave

Ice & Fire Mechanical offers regular maintenance service agreements for your home comfort system. Our heating and cooling technicians provide regular care to your residential heating and cooling units, helping maintain their efficiency and output and extend their lifespan. Regular maintenance also means fewer repair issues in the future, and in a valley where the furnace and the air conditioner both work hard, that adds up.

Between visits the homeowner's job is small: change the filter on schedule, keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, weeds and snow, and call when something sounds different. We have been licensed in Washington since 2003 and bring almost 30 years of experience to every call, and Greg Boisselle, the owner, still stands behind the work. Call (509) 966-8731 and the office will set up your free consultation.
